Pod X3 mic preamp models - opinions?

Hey people, couldn't find any comments on those and since I'm considering getting that thingy I was wondering if they were any good?

I currently own a regular PodXT with MetalShop and BassExpansion model packs and would like to get me an X3 Live version which already has those and some other options... I'm not sure what to expect out of modeled mic preamps, I hope someone would write a few lines about those. Are there any downsides to the X3 compared to XT?

I don't care for them personally, I feel they are an attempt on line 6's part to cover up the shittyness of the mic preamp.

I've more-less expected them to be just an unnecesarry feature, thanks for confirming that...
