Would it be better to record guitar parts using a POD X3 (or PODxt, PODX3 pro, etc.) or POD Farm as a plug-in? From what I've read, it seems like a lot of people run their guitars through an interface and then use the POD Farm plug-in as their amp sim. Thanks for the information.

I do both. I usually record through my pod x3 pro and record a dry signal at the same time for later use.
