What mic do you use in Pod XT?
I've been using Condenser Mic simulation during the last year but after many mixes I realized that guitars were too artificial. I recorded some tracks with 57 On Axis setup and apparently they sound worst playing them alon, but when you listen to the mix they sound much better than the condenser preset I used before.

It all depends on the tone you are going for, I've found. A lot of the bands that have come to me are kinda ignorant and would rather use my PODxt Live than my XSr™ or Dual Recto. They just don't understand that the "mids at -12" isn't a good sound. But whatever. In the XTL I've had to use everything BUT the off-axis 57 mic modeling. The one used the most has been 57 on-axis, but from time to time I've ended up using the U67 and MD421 models as well. I much prefer mic'ing up the XSr™ or Recto, but whatever.

On a couple of settings I have them on different angles. For recording directly into the computer, I find that the 57 on Axis will help, but you still have to cut the mids out.

For when I just practice, I like the sounds of it off axis. The other mics sound too artificial to me. Also, it depends on where you "place" the mic. Because you have an A.I.R. option on the XT. I usually have my "mic" sitting about 35% away from the amp.
