Poetry

Finally. I've been looking for a thread like this for a long time. Anyways, most of my poetry is based off of the girl that I can't stop thinking about, because that is mainly the only place I get inspiration. Anyways, here are a few of mine.

“Screaming Silence”

A silence that is unbearable
A silence that cannot be broken
A silence that needs to be replaced
A silence that has gone on for too long

A place to release myself
to behead the quiet
A place to wander,
to let go of this burden.

Attached and not letting go
The months and days are passing so swiftly
yet nothing has surfaced
This is becoming a disease.

Screaming silence the world I’ve created
Waiting for a response,
but I hear nothing
There is no way out of this world I have created

Screaming silence.

And one more for now...

“Darkness Remains”

What is this going to take?
I feel myself starting to break down.
I am presented a fake,
Don’t know what to do with my life now.

Derailed precisely at the time of the rise
Your disguise is transparent to me
Don’t even try to hide,
I can see through all of your lies.

Blinded by this sense of hope
Blinded by everything I have ever hoped for.
This presence is ensnared by the glare
Decaying my judgment.

Open the gates
Release all of the meant-to-be’s
Everything inquired,
Results in nothing.

What is this going to take?
There is no need for this silence
No need for this shroud,
That you have covered yourself in.

Enveloped in this mass of darkness
Searching for the key to unlock this path
What must I do?
I’ve not given in to this yet.

This is a poem I wrote ages ago, it doesen't have a title and it's not really about anything in particular, it's just some imagery I was playing with. See what meanings or images you can see in it. (There's probably at least 10)
(for some odd reason, the poem came out as one block of text so I have made every other stanza bold to devide them)
Perfection is a fork
with arms of fire
I open my eyes
and drown in the light
Everything
and nothing
Intricacy
and power
Measure by measure
sand grains
strive to stay
As little by little
we
fall astray
Revert
Back into a corner
Touch the trigger
and close the trap around you
The wind picks up
as a figure beckons
toward the changing horizon
Sharp footfalls
as we reach out
and touch the stars
And in a heartbeat
hours pass,
tides rise and fall,
lives re-begin
with a stiff finger
on the pulse of evolution
And as we half fall
half fly,
cruel spikes of accusation
all pointing inward
and I am alone
on the outside
of the circle again
The black choking fog of mystery
guards the path to memory
Frozen stills of forbidden dreams,
imagination snowed under by rationality

Disclaimer: I write poetry. Sucky, sucky poetry. But I'm tryin to get better. Here's one of my later attempts at a (somewhat) more abstract poem.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thorned scars form on my wrist
Reminding me of the pain
I've brought on you

Recollect the memories to this point
Still images in my mind
Layer upon layer - error

Stand accused, I do
Lacking knowledge of the possible loss
But full well I know

Embracing you at night
The calmness of your heart
And cool wind of your breath

The security found in your arms
A safer haven never known
A refuge

Kindness more pure than any other
A love I'd never known
A heart full to bursting

Beauty, rich as any wealth
With eyes deeper than blackest space
Gateways to a singular soul

In short, you.

I know what I stand to lose
I know the extent of my wrongs
And I regret every step
From the path of your heart, straight and true

~Kovenant ( Running away nervously )

Wrote this a while ago, just after an argument with someone, in order to avoid further verbal conflict...

You turn your face
and shout at me
such a repulse i've never seen.
-Eat your fucking words.

You throw your words at me
but never took the time to see
who i really was.
-So shut your fucking mouth.

A couple of minutes later i punched him. :D

The flames are dying down now
and all that is left is the
crackling of the ashes so foul
That pollute the soul, no fair
way out, just a quiet burning

We smell smoke. See pale grey wisps
carrying rancour, a bile formed
from joint flesh, a hate that lisps
In fear of being reborn,
A phoenix again yearning.

this is kinda unfinished...

Ramblings, scrabblings, the frantic search for
Eternity, fraternity, ever to abhore
Normalcy, fallacies, all of order's flaws
Spurning, yearning, for divinity's learnings

The black pearl, dark treasure
leading to the pleasure
hidden to eyes, to mind,
only the sight of the blind
divine, holiness closes minds
to the masses, to the all,
superficiality - fall -
end propriety, society
leave just burning piety

Drive yourself blind as you reach the goal
All prices must be paid for evolution's dawn
No man may sup from godshead's bowl
but to gain mind deformed, thought undrawn

Blaspheme, Forseen, the prophets are tried
Omniscient, Malevolent, no nowhere to hide
Demonstrate, translate, taught of wit denied
Insanity, Sanctity, end of humanity

That felt a lot like reading Dissection gone good. The language use is good, if nothing massively exciting - you might wish to try incorporating different elements of poetry in future, if only for the challange...

who was dragged down by the stone
orders from madmen

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

you're nearly a laugh
hey you, Whitehouse proud town mouse
almost a joker

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

have you heard the news?
things are really what they seem
this is no bad dream

it's been a while... here we go! i'll be back tomorrow and DARE YOU leave me alone in here :D

The War of the Butterfly

A million years spent at each crossroad
Unsure which of the four to take
Gravely dancing in the woulds
Choking on the choice to make
Indecision roaming madly
In the gardens of the forking paths
Packed momentum roaring sadly
Hytericanes interia’s past
And yet there must be more

Inner soleil burning brightly
Blinding fire behind the eyes
Scorched interior gleaming slightly
And peace by piece the butterfly
Is coming apart at the seams
And the sun leaks out to shine
To sever the links
And yet there must be more

If only it knew where to go
It could unfold and falter down that road
The dance in the woulds could end
If only it knew what it is that hurts
So deep
deep

it turns its back to the world
and crying like a child it fights the pain
to finally dance the fears away
among the dragons weeping still but free

and yet there must be more
Somewhere else to go to
Something else to live for
And something else to die for
let go
it’s just not meant to be a war

If only I knew who you are
If only I knew what it is that hurts
so deep
deep
