I trust that settles the matter. Incidentally, good luck with your sexuality.

That is just laughable and shows you haven't really listened to either band. KISS' most commercially accesible albums (prolly "Crazy Nights" or "Unmasked") still rock harder than anything Aerosmith have done since "Done With Mirrors" Aerosmith whole post mid80's career has been based on power ballad after power ballad. If you are going to say KISS is "soft rock" fine, but don't use Aerosmith has the band to compare them too. For the record, I like both bands, and have seen them both live several times. I do like KISS better, but your assessment of KISS is lunacy.GregadetH said:Kiss mostly played the softest of soft rock with a few heavier tunes and they are "legendary" b/c of their stage prescesnce..
I just don't get it.
You may indeed have something there, but it's rock n roll. The Ramones and the Beatles don't strike me as poets. I'm still laughing at Kiss being compared to Chicago :Spin: Of KISS' numerous Top 40 hits, only 3 are ballads. ("Beth," "Forever," and "Hard Luck Woman.") With the exception of "I Was Made For Loving You," the others are great rock songs. "Rock And Roll All Nite," "Shout It Out Loud," "Christeen Sixteen," "Calling Dr. Love," "New York Groove," and "Rocket Ride." Let's list Aerosmiths top 40 songs, and so whose are closer to Chicago? "Pink," "Jaded," "Crazy," "Angel," those are just the ones on the top of my head. That was perhaps the most incorrect assessment of KISS I've ever heard. "Soft Rock."anthraxfan442 said:aerosmith has deeper lyrics

Ross___ said:Since you ask; I had the first SOD record when I was younger. I thought the music was great and the guitar tone blew me away, but the lyrics...Hmm. The "hey, we're only kidding..it's a character" stance was proved wrong whenever Billy opened his mouth in an interview. Then he carried it on into MOD; just ignorant, blinkered, racist, sexist fucking nonsense. It's such a shame, cos the music was great at the time, but it's ruined for me now.
Also, I speak English perfectly well. I just choose to throw in the occasional colloquialism to make people laugh/confused/think about there being more to language than the global Americanisation of it. And everything else for that matter. That's not to say I think American influences are necesarilly bad, but any globalisation is at the expense of another culture and I'm not comfortable with that. You could argue that US culture is stronger than other cultures, but I think (in terms of language) it's just easier and that's why it's so prevalent.
See, this is exactly the kind of discussion we couldn't have on the Milano board. Which brings me full circle.
