I can't decide. I think that they're all excellent. I honestly love all of his music, including the ambient stuff.

Voted for the self-titled. I much prefer the Ildjarn/Nidhogg material and the self-titled demo to any of the full lengths, though.

Had to go with Forest Poetry. That album has an aura to it that is entirely singular. Its strange, its such an abusive album sonically speaking yet its so cacophonous somewhere along the way the white noise becomes hypnotic. You can say that about a lot of black metal albums but the particular brand of "rawness" heard on Forest Poetry is something special.

Fair enough. I think that Ildjarn-Nidhogg and Sort Vokter are just as good as regular Ildjarn.

I'm with Slayed Necros. My favorite was demo compilation mainly due to the songs on the "Norse" demo. The other demos/EPs with Nidhogg are wonderful as well, including that "lost" demo they found a few years back that was actually re-recordings of old Nidhogg songs or something.

I voted for Forest Poetry though. Also, I own a copy "Ildjarn is Dead" would consider selling to an interested party since I never listen to.

Strength and Anger and it's not close. It's an absolutely engrossing experience, a hall of mirrors displaying numerous faces of hate. ultimately culminating in the pure, hateful, stillness of the ambient meditations. A true masterpiece.

I haven't listened to Forest Poetry in a few years, but I remember it being solid but it lacking the vision of Strength and Anger. I really don't like the drum tone on s/t and find it to feel more like a grab-bag than a true album. The Ildjarn/Nidhogg EP is killer.

I like Ildjarn in small doses. I do feel like a full length in one sitting is a challenge. Then again, I'm pretty sure the only album I've heard is Forest Poetry.
