i've had "ildjarn is dead" for a while but i never managed to read this whole rant all the way through. on the insert it's written in an irritatingly small typeface too, at least this is clearer

nothing new, nothing that i haven't seen better expressed elsewhere. he seems to me to be living in a very small world and only scratching the most obvious surface of most of the problems he attempts to address. then again, seen as a stream-of-consciousness style text vomit it's alright i guess -- about as meaningful as that form of writing ever gets

and look at me, my laundry's in the wash too and i'm playing the armchair literature critic over some shit in a limited edition lp inlay

The LP only has some old demo crap, right? I have the CD, which has a second disc with most of the Det Frysende Nordariket album, which is probably the best I've heard from Ildjarn imo. I actually read that final statement on the horrendously small font, no spacing wall of text...aside from getting a perspective into the mind of the artist and thus into the spirit of the music, it was a pretty worthless read.

Forest Poetry is a good break-it-out-once-a-year-and-enjoy-it-a-lot album if you ask me.

but basically yeah, it's the kind of stuff I tend to shun when desperately looking for something enjoyable to spin. Same with Wold's Screech Owl, actually a fine album of underrated beauty.

I wouldn't call it very very different, but yes it's a different take on Black Metal. However, it still possesses qualities of Ildjarn's solo material, but is much of an easier listen (not like that means much). Unlike Ildjarn, it's coherent and never strays from its point.
