yeah people do like bands more when people die, for example if (during FTR days) alexi laiho died everyone would start buying CoB CD's and stuff

when someone dies out of sympathy we call em great. but they had to be good to begin with obviously

dime was great even when alive. but when he died his work got more attension. and was taken more seriously

yea I think they become very ovverratted and glorified. Kind of like this kid at my school. He was a normal kid, nothing special. He died at a wrestling match year and he was completely blown up. The principal was always talking about how amazing of a person he was. Yea he was cool and nice most of the time but he wasnt this superman. If I died I would want to be remembered as who I am not some faulty.

There was also alot of poseurs who knew nothing about Pantera, and then a week after he died "OMG RIPDIME METAL YEAH!"

i'll admit, i unfortunately didn't discover Dime's work until after his death, but i'm not some poser fanboy. i have all his official stuff, Pantera, Damageplan, and Rebel Meets Rebel. believe it or not, there are legitimate fans who just learned who he was i little too late.

man FUCK these guys

what about shit like Beethoven, Mozart, et. al.

totally under appreciated in their time
