I really, really don't think post-AJFA Metallica is anything that someone like Chuck should be paying tribute to.

I think the way he has been singing on the last few albums he could make it sound pretty heavy just on his own, I wouldn't mind hearing it, although who picked Holier Than Thou?

Totally...Chuck should do that......Chuck sings and growls better than Hetfield does now, not that anyone could replace Hetfields old voice.....I think that would rock!

Hell yeah. Holier Than Thou is a pretty solid song, one of the thrashier TBA tunes. Of course I'd prefer something like Fight Fire With Fire or Blackened, but like the poll says, Chuck = good.

Who else is playing on the song? If it's a bunch of burnouts from the "where are they now" files...forget it; however, if Chuck will be working with some good musicians he should do it.

I do believe Chuck could improve it dramatically, and that's the point. I know it's a tribute album, but surpassing the original is always the key as to whether I actually would buy a Metallica Tribute.
This one should have the Nevermore cover on it as well...should. Don't know for certain.

The answer is simple for me - the more Chuck the better - but who's choice was picking this very song for him? I can think of many other that would suit Chuck better - anyway I am curious how he would deal with this one

Yeah, Chuck could certainly sing Blackened. They might have to downtune a bit, but probably not.

THE MORE CHUCK THE BETTER. I think "Holier Than Thou" is one of the few songs on Black Album that have potential to be very good if they are well executed. So, give Chuck a good supporting cast and rock on! But please, Chuck, do not just growl. Use all of your voices (like on The Gathering) and open the eyes of the metallica fans (if anybody listens to these tribute albums, of course)
Why not, he can only make the song better. I don't really like the black album so I would welcome a newer version with some kick to it.

That is exactly what I meant. Chuck doesn't sing like his balls are in a vice....guess I should have clarified that. And my post doesn't mean that I didn't care for Hetfield voice either.....it's just a comparison....Stun said:
