As for the options, I got the same problem as the others. My favorite genre is black metal (industrial and 2nd wave) and second would be death metal.

Personally, I like gothic-influenced metal, or gothic-influenced black metal. Early Theatres des Vampires is a great example of something I enjoy, or something more traditionally gothic like Moonspell.

However, I cannot stand that style of music labelled as gothic metal which features "heavenly" female vocals, slow melancholic melodies etc.


My second favourite would be symphonic black metal.
