Poor man's Roland SPDS?

Hello all,

On a real tight budget, I'm looking to use custom kicks samples to be triggered for live use. I'm willing to give around $200-$250 for it.

Did some digging, triggering via software seems a bit too risky/difficult for me with all the routing and latency problems. So right now, I'm looking at a DDrum DRT combined with an Alesis Sample Pad.

I'm unsure about false triggering as well as velocity/volume curve with it. Anyone tried it?
