PT live DVD preview

05-22-2006

A full song from the forthcoming Porcupine Tree live DVD "Arriving Somewhere..." is now available to view at the band's MySpace page. Blackest Eyes was filmed along with the rest of the DVD in Chicago last October. The DVD, edited by Lasse Hoile and with the sound mixed into both stereo and 5.1 surround sound, is due for release in late Summer. There will be a short promotional tour of Europe and the USA, dates to be announced shortly. :hotjump:

Note that the video clip can be downloaded and added to other sites, so share with with all your friends and loved ones!

@ Deadly Rose: Steven Wilson is also involved in a project called "Blackfield", together with Israeli musician Aviv Geffen. They released one album in 2004, entitled "Blackfield" and recorded their second album earlier this year. I recommend you check out both Porcupine Tree and Blackfield for some truly beautiful music. Enjoy!

And everything else Steven has done.
...for instance Black Water Park, Damnation and Deliverance by Opeth, three outstanding albums which were also produced by SW (Deadly Rose, you might know this already...). He also contributed vocals, guitars and piano for them. Magic!

I love Aviv Geffen =D

Porcupine Tree is one of my favourite bands.....

Steven is one of the most talented persons on earth....in my opinion!
except what you mentioned......he produced a great album for the norwegian singer Anja Garbarek (daughter of the famous jazz player, Jan Garbarek).
also worked with Fish and Marillion, the project O.S.I (sang for the song "Shutdown"), did some great cover songs (like "Thank You" of Allanis Morristte), and worked with Yoko Ono (remix for the song "Death of Samantha"......really great version.....you must listen to it!).
and has some other projects called : I.E.M, No-Man.....and more....

recently he start renting an appartment in centre of Tel Aviv......

I just can't wait to hear OL with his production.....can't be better!

I just realised one thing, I want to hear Deadwing (the song) performed with Kobi instead of boring Mikael.. Åkerfeldt :p

np: The Start of Something extremely insanely incredible unbelieveable Beautiful!

Did I say that Porcupine Tree is my favourite band? Oh shit. You guys got me in a Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson mood. It'll take me a week... or maybe half a year (like last time) to get out of! Nooooooooooooooo...!

Buy what cd?

Anyway, get In Absentia. I don't care. Greatest songs ever are on that album. But got a few (relatively good) fillers, IMO. Lightbulb Sun is probably Porcupine Tree's best album, though it's pretty much impossible to get (they're working on a remaster, so well, watch out for that one!).
