Porcupine Tree

And the ones who find their music boring, it's just because they can't stand a song that last more than a usual radio crap , 3-4 minutes. Porcupine Tree's music isn't for average or narrow-minded listeners.

I wouldn't say that; he's definitely not a narrow-minded listener. Again, the person that said they were boring has a picture of Agalloch in his signature. No disrespect to them at all, but they specialize in making a brand of music that some would consider boring. While both approaches are completely different, they both have passages that meander on just a bit too long to add atmosphere to the music. I guess it's just the ambient or just psychedelic influence in general that he may find boring about it, but still...damn. However, I have just as ridiculous tastes. By all logic, I should like Radiohead, but I don't. Which is completely absurd.

There's always an exception to that ''rule''. That's just one of the reasons that somebody wouldn't like porcupine tree. I didn't notice that someone really said that, but because many say that pt is boring I just posted that. and what you said for the old stuff, I like the new stuff better too, they rock harder :) and still have this complexicity and ambient tone in their music. It works better for me too like that.

BTW, Porcupine Tree is playing a set of new material on this coming tour :D

And i watched them play those, last saturday
Songs are very promising, still need some work on, according to mr SW.
New songs really set in to the crowd, who had willing ears.
They played the '17 minute monster' for us, .. song is amazing.
Riff is stuck in my head like crazy because it grooved my ass off!
Part of the chorus, sounded like this:

Only MTV, No philosophy
Solid, Beyond it. (or be on it), -couldn't really define it all-
No Empathy, Electricity.
Solid, Beyond it.

Needless to say, that show stood it's ground.
I noticed my ears are spoiled by knowing the sounds of 013, because that crispy clear sound that 'locks' the crowd in, wasn't there in Antwerp. An annoying low hum distracted me a few times but it didn't spoil the evening.
2nd part of the show were songs to promote their new dvd, Arriving Somewhere. I bought it, haven't seen it. Yet.

And it was my 2nd time to be in Hof ter Lo and the 2nd time i got in ..for free.
Some guy just heard his brother wasn't going to make it and he asked us if we already bought our tickets.
He traded 2 tickets for a few beers.
Cheers!

I'm not saying they're not good. But some of our users have a Steven Wilson rape fantasy. (As in, they rape SW.) Could be a joke, maybe not. But funny either way.

Great band. Their live albums are as good if not better than their regular releases. Blackfield is also very good.

NO!
I've checked them out twice already (supporting Porcupine Tree) and to me?
They are still, lotta show and no go.
