Porfire 2626 and windows 8?

I anyone using the profire 2626 windows 7 driver successfully in windows 8?

thinking of upgrading but not sure if i'm ready to "break" my profire connection.

I have windows 8 on another machine and it runs flawless as an office/web os


It doesnt look like the new alesis owned m-audio has any interest in supporting the profire so
It may just be time to move on or designate it as additional preamps though lightpipe.

Also - pretty sure it's Avid that now owns M-Audio, right?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Audio Avid sold M-audio. Probably explains why there is no more Pro-Tools MP anymore.

I went ahead and did the upgrade ( My windows 7 upgrade was pretty fresh so i didnt bother with a clean install)

This was the easiest upgrade ever, the installer finds new drivers if there needed making it as painless as possible.

plugged my profire in after install and it works just like it did in win 7 ( using the latest already installed win7 64 driver)

seems to be working as it should for now.

all my docked shortcuts stayed on the desktop I setup in win7 so it pretty much feels like the same computer
