My CD player at work is shitting out several times a day instead of once a month or so, so it's about time to replace it I reckon.

This is what I'm replacing, and the biggest picture I could find but you get the idea. :loco:

Figure I might upgrade to something nicer, since I keep my door closed and the tunes cranked oftentimes.

Whoa! What's up with the locked beer!?

I'm digging this one, Panasonic w/ mp3 playback:

I'm a firm believer in the free beer market. If you're partying with me, my beer = your beer. Except like a $14 bottle of Scottish Wee Heavy I'm saving or something, but my friends know better than to take those without asking. :)

I was in my hotel last night dying for a beer. I went to the hotel bar:

me: can I order a drink and take it back to my room?
waitress: sure.
me: can I put it on my room tab?
waitress: sure.
me: do you have guinness?
waitress: sure.
me: on tap?
waitress: sure.
me: I'll take two.
waitress: sure.

No lie.

 @ JayKeeley, that's so awesome. I gotta start asking for my drinks "to go."

I extend the invitation to all regulars at RC to come drink my beer!

MP3 capability would be nice....but for all around small size + power + quality, bite the bullet and get the Bose desktop CD player/radio.

seems too expensive at first, but for the size, simply incredibly rich sound. The wife bought me this with her lawsuit proceeds and it is the best $500 I've ever spent of her money :)

p.s. Nad, a small package should arrive in Riverside I imagine by Friday/Saturday.

I've looked at those for years but that price tag (as with any other Bose product) just turns me off completely. I wouldn't really want one for work though, if some fucker lifted my $40 stereo I'd be pissed but if the snagged my $500 Bose, whoa man would that suck.

Thanks for the first hand account though, maybe get one for da home... :)

I couldn't find a picture of Gene Wilder holding a radio next to his hear, face covered in boot polish, as he's trying to disguise himself as a black man to escape Grand Central train station in "Silver Streak"....

...so instead, "I give you life!"

Madeline Kahn is quite possibly my #1 of all time, but Terri Garr is a definite top 25 contender.

Ah, so many women, so little hand lotion. I mean, uh, time.

man when I was a kid and first saw that movie, Terri Garr gave me a total chubby.
My wife looks like Terri Garr from her Young Frankenstein days.

And yes, I do ask her to say "roll roll, roll in the hay" before I pounce. :heh:

A BOLT OF LIGHTIGINIGN!!!!!11111

Doesn't say how many watts, probably 15 or 20 I would guess. That's plenty since I've never cranked my little boombox past 5 in my office.

I need a shit system for occasional use while I workout back at my fam's pad. I currently have a 5 disc Panasonic which doesn't even read cds, and when it does it can only make it half a dozen tracks in before it starts skipping like a pickle sniffer towards the altar of Bloomberg. I have $200 I'm willing to part with for this enterprise. Suggestions? I need it to have a little oompf for those occasional headbanging sessions done in solitude. Air shredding ftw!

Ken recently bought some Denon mini system he gave the :kickass: to.
search for Denon on the forum.
