For some reason I like sadness, depression and negative almost in all kinds of art. I hate emo and whining though, so I feel when this line is crossed.
But positive stuff is good too, sometimes.

how angry/morbid/hateful the lyrics are?? there are bands like behemoth who sound enraged but yet don't have lyrics that are dark at all

My idea of positive music is music which has a positive overall message, the type of music you would dance to or something, or maybe power metal, would get the highest rating on a scale from 1 to 10. I would consider Negative music something you would listen to in the dark, or something. Also it would have a negative message, such as a Funeral Doom band...
