First off, bands do not play back to back years, and second, enough with Symphony x (they are great), but enough already. Give some other bands a shot. With that said, I love your Day 2 picks!!! And Adagio and PoS would be great also.

First of all...Bring back Superior. They had a hell of a set and crowd response at PP2. Bring Enchant.....they have something magical live...or so I hear...

I wouldn't mind seeing Solitude Aeturnus...Bring back Threshold....Zero Hour.....

Get Savatage....after C2C's performance.....Savatage would be well welcomed.

2 bands that are now defunct but would have been awesome

Mayadome....and Madsword.

First of all...who requested seven witches? I saw them open for Symphony X at Lamours this past winter, and they were terrible, with almost no reaction from the crowd at all. Ok, now Glenn, you have to use my ideas ok?!? thanks!

1. Sonata Arctica (BEST EVER)
2. Kamelot (ALSO BEST BAND EVER)
3. Iced Earth
4. Lacuna Coil (yeah why not)
5. Dreamtale (THEY ROCK)
6. Lost Horizon
7. Rhapsody
8. Sonata Arctica (Yes, they should play twice)
9. Divinity Destroyed (An up and coming band from jersey, they recently opened for nightwish at lamours...they should definitely get to be one of the opening smaller bands at next years festival, they are going places! check them out at http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/182/divinity_destroyed.html )
10. Blue Oyster Cult (Don't fear the reaper)

Hey glenn...thanks in advance for using my suggestions! Oh yeah and make sure i get tickets too :D

My list:

Nevermore
Marillion
Fates Warning
Watchtower
Dead Soul tribe
Savatage
Lacuna Coil
The Gathering
star one/ayreon
Crimson Glory ( they have reformed with Midnight rumour has it )

aslo one of the greatest unsigned bands from NYC called Braindance, this band is looking to push prog in different directions. I encourage all to check them out.

My trouble with this years show. too many dream theater rip off bands, nothing is worse than a 3rd rate copy and everyone ahd the Kevin moore DT sound. Lame for sure. DId anyone notice the bands that were really really good, had actual songs and not 7 mins worth of chops?
How about writing an actual song for a change, maybe something with a Chorus? just throwin that out there.
you guys can flame me starting.............NOW

I gotta be honest. no offense to anyone who has them down on their wish list but, I myself am a longtime Marillion fan of which they are 1 of 2 or 3 bands I feel I must see before I die but Marillion at a Metal Festival???

I'd be impressed but even more shocked. Enchant has a big Marillion influence and I could see them hopefully, but Marillion? that would be almost like having U2 play Ozzfest. Its like 1 genre away..but hey if it happens, more power to it and Glenn. Lord knows Marillion has influenced a lot of Power and esp Progressive Metal bands though.

OK Lets yank SX and Nightwish

We would need two headliners. I guess I would move Stratovarius to headline spot, do some shifting and possibly get "The Gathering" in there somehow. That is one possibility "Porcupine Tree" would also be a nice addition but I am not sure how well it would go over with most of the crowd, I think they are fucken incredible!

Day 2 instead of Nightwish go with Children of Bodom or Opeth now that would be interesting to say the least. GROOOOOWWWWLLLLL!!!
Although maybe not headliner quality, Anekdoten would make for an interesting pick, so would Amaran...Fates Warning would probably be done with an album by next year and wouldn't it be cool if John Arch made an apperance!!! This might be a long shot but Marillion still kicks my ass (just play most of the older Hogarth and Fish era stuff) and a Fish apperance would be awesome...then again not sure if the crowd would go for this...I would!

I can still dream I guess!

I wouldn't say Best Ever but a good band and worth a shot at PP...I only heard one strong album by them Ecliptica, the others are good but nothing like that one.

2. Kamelot (ALSO BEST BAND EVER)
Kamelot and Khan are one of my favorites but best band ever....not quite, but I will add that Khan ranks as one of my top 10 vocalist at the moment! :)

3. Iced Earth

Be interesting to see how Ripper changes the band

4. Lacuna Coil (yeah why not)
Oh yeah, I would love to see them again...somehow if they can ditch the male vocals :)

5. Dreamtale (THEY ROCK)
Haven't heard of this band...have to give a listen

6. Lost Horizon
This is a cool band, I dig some of there stuff

7. Rhapsody
OH God please say this is a joke ;) JK but in all honesty if they played I would be doing some CD shopping.

8. Sonata Arctica (Yes, they should play twice)
MMMMM no! :)

9. Divinity Destroyed (An up and coming band from jersey, they recently opened for nightwish at lamours...they should definitely get to be one of the opening smaller bands at next years festival, they are going places! check them out at http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/182/divinity_destroyed.html )
I'll check them out!

10. Blue Oyster Cult (Don't fear the reaper)
Now that would be nostalgic! Kind of like Rage this year!
"The Siege and Investiture of Baron Von Frankenstein's Castle at Weisseria" they would have to play that for me of course since it's my all time favorite BOC tune! :)

Strong list there! Only band I wouldn't care too much about is Nevermore but I would see them if they played! A CG reunion would be awesome, might as well add a Psychotic Waltz reunion...here is one band that kicked ass and played sold out venues all over the world but could barely draw 50+ in there own backyard (California/USA)

All I can say is that if Conception plays, they MUST get a slot where they play for a minimum of an hour!

And as much as I like Marillion and/or Fish, they're not appropriate for this show. Porcupine Tree is borderline, they're a lot heavier live, and the Opeth fans seemed to dig them on their combined tour, so who knows? But again, they tour on a regular basis, so they're probably not something you're going to see at PP.

I want to see Superior again, too. They were great.

As much as I would like to see Stratovarius, I doubt it will ever happen, as apparently they are just not affordable. Sort of like an Ayreon show, there would just be too many guest musicians involved to make it cost effective.

I was going to update the totals on this page, but I'm busy uploading pics at the moment. I will try to update the totals soon...

SOOO many choices - this is a good thing!!!
:D

TAROT
MASTERPLAN
STAR ONE
LOST HORIZON
SONOTA ARCTICA
THYRANE
BRAINSTORM
STRATOVARIUS
AT VANCE
ADAGIO

Somm doom and gloom would be cool
Graveworm
Sirenia
Tristania
Sins of Thy Beloved
of couse members would have to re-unite on a few of these.:worship:

You are right about the touring factor of Opeth and Porcupine Tree...still I think having one or both on the bill would be awesome...I just hope the moshers don't go off again at the Opeth set. Still PP or not if you get a chance to see these bands DO IT! Don't miss them and even with the growling vocals, Opeth is still an amazing band! Porcupine Tree is in a league of their own, one of my top 10 bands at the moment they kick royal booty!!!

I've never seen Superior but I really like this band! I also agree with Strato not been affordable unless they just said the hell with it and just played a concert for there fans in the US who will probably never see them unless we visit Europe or South America. Ayreon just can't happen too many talented musicians to bring over and the schedule would be a mess...although it would be cool! :)

If I could vote for 10, they would be:

Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica
Sonata Arctica

If I had to seriously come up with 9 more bands, they'd be as follows:

Nightwish (because I couldn't make it this year)
Evergrey (ditto)
Symphony X (ditto... and yes, I realize these 3 can't play next year. It's OK... I'll come back when they DO return! :D )
Lacuna Coil
Sentenced
Amorphis
Stratovarius
Crimson Glory
The Gathering

Special mention goes out to Pain Of Salvation, whom I'd gladly see EVERY year if I could. :tickled:

Jens Johanson played a song with nightwish at their show at Lamours on Sunday...so that's almost a start...

Jens is a cool dude and an amazing keyboardist! I am not sure but I thought Jens lives in New York or at least he resided there for a while years ago...I might be wrong but who knows.

I do agree that Marillion is perhaps a little on the light side, but Hey t is called PROG power, so why not some variety. Thier new CD marbles should be out around this time next year and the world tour should be in effect so you never can tell.

How well would the Gathering go over? the new material is really not Metal in any sense of the word. So once again, it's a little on the light side for most of you. Unless they stuck to old stuff ( doubt that )

Hopefully the Crimson Glory reunion is going smooth and then we can get them to play.

Some of these have already performed, but they're so awesome I had to include them again...

Evergrey
Sonata Arctica
Dark Tranquillity
Masterplan
Helloween
Pain of Salvation
Adagio
Lost Horizon
Hammerfall
Shadow Gallery
