Based on ownership experiences only, I'd say rat terriers. Dunno if they're all as smart and awesome as my little Bruce was, but I'd be more than willing to have another go with a rat terrier when I'm in a position to get another dog. His good behavior required little to no effort on my part; just a perfect lil dog. He died 6 years ago and I still miss him so much.

(Not Bruce, just another rat terrier for reference)

i don't much like cats either (well, i LIKE them well enough but they're kinda pointless since dogs are 1000 times more fun) but that one looks hilarious and cute

German Shorthaired Pointer. I had one when I was younger (easily the best fucking dog ever) that was completely black instead of the brownish color most of them have.

We have one of these dogs now, TBH its just an annoying as fuck little fucker, does nothing but yap and shit.

the best dogs ive owned have always been rescues. My current dog was abandoned in a creek when he was a pup. Someone found him and took him to a vet that we knew. Best dog I've ever owned.

Another one I picked up at a walmart parking lot. Some dude was giving away rottweiler/pitbull pups. We took one and she was an awesome dog. I was upset when she died suddenly.

There have been 2 other rescues (1 dead/1 alive) and they were/are great dogs. Great with my kids, no biting or chewing.

You guys are insane for not loving cats.
It’s way too easy to love a dog, they’re just all over you no matter what you do and who you are.
Cats are more independent yet once they get to love you, they’re the most loyal shits ever, same as dogs.
I always wanted a dog but then happened to have a cat for 17 years, and it was one of the most intelligent, loving and beautiful animals I’ve seen.

Absolutely love both.

Siberian cats for the win.

Cats are fine with me, mostly. I have loved a few. I have disliked several.

My dog hates nearly everyone. She loves exactly 4 people forever and ever but she wishes great pain and slow death upon everyone else. Her bark alone has terrorized many, her Death Stare even worse. And being the size/strength that she is... we have a very reliable guardian.

Two brother dogs we had (RIP bros) were distinct animals: one hated everyone but his immediate family and would defend us until his dying breath, even from other loved ones. But to us, he was the sweetheart amongst sweethearts. His larger, far more intimidating (looking) brother would casually stroll away with strangers or anyone that paid even an ounce of attention to him. He loved everyone.

neighbours' cats shit in my tomatoes every goddamn night.

I bought a Nerf Super Soaker Soakzooka to use as a deterrent weapon, to great immediate results and the amusement of the hood, but the fuckers keep pooping in my yard. Hence the dog project.
