Paradise Lost - Symbol of Life

Wow...

---------------------------------------
All alone beside myself
All alone beside myself
And I’ve troubles on my mind

And I’ve reached the depths of life
And I hear that deaths alright
Still I’ll wait for you to try

When the dreams have been and gone
And the torment has begun
My emotions run

Can’t get by with what I’ve got
Always dwell on what I’ve lost
Just a loaded gun…

A symbol of my life, a symbol of my life

On the floor I crawl and writhe
As the day turns into night
I remove myself from sight

And I reached the depths alright
And I hear deaths part of life
Still I wish that you would try

When a dream has been and gone
And the torment has begun
The rejections done

I get by with what I’ve got
Always aware of what I’ve lost
Just a loaded gun…

A symbol of my life, a symbol of my life

Nothing more, nothing more to say to me

AIC- Nutshell, down in hole....the list goes on and on, brilliant lyricist,

Acid Bath- new dead Sensation, Brilliant lyricist

Katatonia- Saw you drown

Katatonia- for My demons

Opeth- In my time of need

Opeth- WindowPane

WInds- the imaginary direction CD has a very melancholy feel, the lead singer is ace at envoking sadness IMO.

If you wanna become depressed listening to AIC(any Cd), Katatonia(any Cd), and Opeth's damnation CD one after the other and you'll wanna stay at home and sleep all day, Just thinking about it its making me sad :(

I agree on the nutshell, but the version of Hurt by JC pretty much sucks ass compared to the original. Also the chorus on "Nobody's Here" is so positive that it undermines the depressing feel of the rest of it (and makes me not like the song ;P)

I guess cuz this is a metal forum I see alotta "hard" sad songs...

And while I don't know them (so I can't really judge them) I still have to say that "It Can't Rain All The Time" by Jane Siberry on The Crow soundtrack has to be the saddest song I've ever heard.. If you can listen to it without welling up with tears then you are not human.

...or Pearl Jam "Black" ..but that's personal..lol

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention pretty much anything off of Empyrium's "Songs of Moor and Misty Field." Brilliant album.

Yes a brilliant album, although the album feels a bit more triumphant than depressive....
