Just realized you can get most of razorbacks releases for cheaper on sevared.

Went to the local record store, and found a couple of nice LPs on clearance:

Opeth - Blackwater Park (I already have it on CD, but $8 for a new gatefold I can't turn down)
Tombs - Winter Hours (also $8)
and then got Songs from the Big Chair by Tears For Fears on vinyl as well.

Nice find, especially Blackwater Park. The local record store I go to is always picked clean of rare finds like that.

Mine has a decent selection, but it's usually fairly average priced (i.e. the Tombs lp was originally $19.99 and the Opeth was $20.99).

Anyone else find it ironic that vinyl is basically an outdated medium and, yet, is more expensive than CDs are these days (new, not used)?

Outside of all the cool stuff that comes with modern vinyl releases, it really doesn't make much sense to buy it considering you're playing a digital recording on an analog platform.

Holding an LP in your hands is much more exciting than a CD, imo.

I agree, that's the main reason why I still buy modern released records, just saying technically there isn't much of a reason to buy modern releases, unless you have a better record setup then whatever other setup you have, or you're for sure that the recording was in analog format.
