My Mom coming out well from the backside of a 16 hour surgery to remove a sinus tumor that had made it's way up into her brain cavity. Despite having gone through two bone marrow transplants myself, I've never been so afraid in my life. It was supposed to be about a 4 hour surgery as the entire tumor was not visible in all the imaging they had done prior to surgery - it was not until they got in there that they discovered it went through the skull base in her sinuses into her brain and had attached itself to the bottom between the two lobes. Waiting in the hospital for 16 hours of surgery was a true test of my sanity and nerves. Her ENT (ear, nose, throat) surgeon and Neurosurgeon did a miraculous job despite the difficulties - add to that the fact that they did it entirely endoscopicaly it really is truly unbelievable how well she is doing just two weeks later.
That's my win !!!
