I'd like to try shooting a gun. I used to do archery shoots every now and then as a kid, and developed a pretty dead aim. I wonder how well that would translate into ability with a firearm.

If you do it, get some decent training, both in the actual operation of a weapon, and in safety precautions. Don't just grab a gun, pose in front of a mirror, and head into the woods to shoot at cans like some wannabe.

Agreed. I've been doing this for 17 years, and know operations of firearms, basic handgun dismantling and safety inside and out. (Yes, I started when I was 10, under very good supervision.)
