Meh, LI is nothing special. Kind of boring too.

Manhattan is the greatest place to be, or in a borough/neighborhood with a good commute to Manhattan, like Forest Hills (where I am from originally), and certain parts of Brooklyn.

Definitely.
Even walking around in the city with a few friends is entertaining.

On a Saturday night, you could split a cab with some cute girls and go to the same clubs.
