Hey guys, I figured I'd make a thread to plug this year's Flight of the Valkyries, since I'm here all day because I have a government job and have nothing better to do while I pretend to protect you all.

It's gonna be in Baltimore. On November 6th. We have a burger truck, and one of our sponsors is Woodchuck hard apple cider. There will be screaming, singing, and growling women. On stage.

Women like this:

Basically, you should come. Because it will be awesome. And at the very least, you should be there for the burger truck, because seriously...

..how can you say no to that? Unless you're a vegetarian. Or a communist.

BRMH Promotions is proud to announce the 2010 FLIGHT OF THE VALKYRIES (FotV) East festival – the newest edition of the premier festival in the US for metal bands with female lead vocals.

The very first FotV East will take place at The Ottobar in Baltimore, MD, on Saturday, November 6, 2010. This regional festival will be a prequel to the full-scale Flight of the Valkyries metal festival coming to Baltimore next year.

This festival will showcase incredible local and regional metal acts with female vocalists. If you love metal and chicks who rock, this is the festival for you! Representing a variety of sub-genres, FotV East has at least few bands for everyone.

The FotV East 2010 Lineup:
Black Widow USA (traditional heavy metal from Baltimore, MD)

Booze provided by The Ottobar and special sponsor Woodchuck Cider. Food will be offered by Kooper's Chowhound Burger Truck. There will also be metal merch, merchandise raffles and guest MC, Mike Rocha from Shockwave Magazine!

FotV has been a catalyst for many female-fronted metal bands that have toured extensively abroad to realize the market for their music in the US. The festival has previously featured both well-known and up-and-coming female-fronted metal acts such as Doro, Unexpect, Luna Mortis, Shadowside, Benedictum and Vainglory.

FotV was the first annual music festival of its kind in the US devoted to metal bands with female lead vocalists. The festival, which debuted in St. Paul, MN in 2007, showcases all metal sub-genres with the only unifying factor being that a female vocalist obviously must front the band.

I've been hearing about [geist] a lot lately, and not in this circle. Nice surprise to see them on the FoTV fest. Decent music but I'd be more interested to see their entire live "visual kei style" live show. Want to see how an American band will pull it off! :headbang:

Otherwise I've only heard of Operatika. I'm really not interested in female vocals 98% of the time but this lineup is pretty cool after listening through a few more of the bands I didn't know.

Not sure what that third pic is, but me thinks a Scotsman would walk away from it...

The 3rd picture is me, and I married a Scot/Irish! Maybe he enjoys the fear? ;)

Anyhoo, this show is two days away! Am I gonna see anyone there? Specifically anyone that might enjoy taking a few shots with me?
