Anyone realize that one of the band members posted on this forum thanking people for the kind words about them? Hey, I know anyone could view a forum, but this may be an indication that they might be coming to PP 4 as an opener! Just a thought.

Tight!

I know Steve aka SYmphony is pretty active in several UM forums as well as the forum on his own page so I don't know if that's a good indicator or not. I know he post on the Bloodstock UK forum which they are playing and I do know that Karl Groom (threshold) brought a promo pack for Glenn during last years show. (Note:Karl had produced the Power Quest Demo tape and it was made in his studio). So maybe thats a sign. Either way he's being tight lipped about it.

I don't think they deserve to be on ProgPower. You need to at least have two albums out to be considered, or be a great band such as Shaman or Masterplan.

I'm inclined to agree with alexofbodom, but then you get into sketchy territory, because "great" is such a subjective term. I think Shaman is great, but I also think DragonForce is great, and I'd love to see them both at PP4. I'm sure some people think Power Quest is as great as the above bands, if not more so.

I don't think the number af albums a band has should or does have any bearing on if they can play. Look at all the "great" bands that some of you loved that only had 1 album out before the rock&metal gods took them apart.

I for one am glad to have seen some of those types of bands live before something happened to them. Granted, the bands I saw that only put 1 album out was in the early 90s, but those albums and shows mean a lot more to me than most others.

After all, isn't that what opening slots are for too?

MAYBEEEe.. we should add a few more bands to each date, keep some pizza delivery guys on hand and enjoy the day longer. :) :)

Not for nothing, but Zero Hour only has one album out. You can't consider their EP a full length album. They played and were great. I'm sure Power Quest has an EP as well. Sometimes it is those bands with just 1 album out that blow me away.

You are right, chibitotoro. Greatness differs for everybody. What I should have written is that bands like Shaman or Masterplan, who have members that have been in the metal scene for many years (Andre Matos, Confessori and Mariutti for Shaman; Roland Grapow, Uli Kusch and Jorn Lande for Masterplan) and are very well known by many, should have priority because of those members.

I agree with Creeps, opening slots are for bands with not as much material giving them a chance to get their name out. After all, at PP2 Balance Of Power opened the show and they have 4 albums. In other words, the number of albums should have nothing to do with who opens. Now with who headlines....that's a different story.

Angra also has a much larger fan base than a lot of bands mentioned here as well.

Whatever the outcome, I know Glen will continue putting together amazing shows.. so I'm not worried.

PPIII was my first visit.

Silent Force was the one band I was more excited to see than any other (color me kooky), I just really, really dig that band. I got to see them put on a killer show, I'm very happy I was able to attend.

Seeing Silent Force again may never happen. Will they tour the states? It's possible, but I'd put money on no. If I were to see them again, my guess would be at another future PP show.
