Ignore recs for Iced Earth, they suck

Thrash:
Pantera's Cowboys From Hell has a good mix of thrash and melody-ish stuff like Shattered
Testament
Metal Church
Kreator
Exodus
Sodom
Megadeth
Slayer
Anthrax
Metallica's Ride The Lightning also has crazy melody along with thrashiness
