NOVEMBERS DOOM have just confirmed that they will be adding a very special acoustic set on the same night, May 9th, of their main stage performance at this year's CHICAGO POWERFEST. This will be their first ever acoustic set on American soil, and will be held in the Pearl Room's connected lounge (Capone's) prior to their main set.

For this year's POWERFEST, festival organizer's CRJ Productions have made arrangements to have the adjacent lounge opened up to fest attendees as a special room for fans to kick back, hang out & check out some cool acoustic performances which will take place in between main stage acts. Additional vendors will also be invited to set up in the lounge area, and if any vendors are interested, please contact CRJ via the fest website www.ChicagoPowerfest.com

CRJ also commented, "This is yet another step towards our ultimate goal of creating the complete festival experience for the POWERFEST, and we're very excited to see how things will continue to develop. We hope that by opening up the lounge this year, it will give fans a chance to hang out, and even an opportunity to rest instead of having to stand the entire night...something many fans have expressed an eager interest in over the years."

This is a great opportunity to hear us perform material we've never played in our regular set before. If you're a fan of our "lighter" material, this is certainly a special moment, and this is only the second time we've ever tried this. SO, now any ND fans on the fence about coming to see us, hopefully you won't want to miss this rare performance.

I think you guys just stole me away from a weekend of doom in Indianapolis! :p

I was waiting to see what day Hounds of Hasselvander were playing.
That was my deciding factor.
I was just hoping it was not the same day as ND at Powerfest.

Regardless, this is a MAJOR win for any ND fan.

I suggested this last year....same with picking Suidakra the year before they played....and Turisas the year they played Pagan Fest. Funny...for a guy who got banned from the forum...I sure picked tons of the highlights for the fest in the past years.

acoustic request......

Camptown Lady!

Doo-dah, fuckwad

Yeah this should be fun, and I think it's a great idea having Capone's open as a lounge/merch area/acoustic show, it really allows for a better "hanging out" atmosphere especially during bands you might not be as interested in seeing. You don't get that feeling of, "Man I'm gonna be stuck inside that one room all day/night long", hopefully it'll add to the fest vibe that people have been talking about.

I had no thoughts of even going to Chicago Powerfest before...
Now all of a sudden I'm Driving from MN just for the Saturday Performances. I wonder what might've sparked that choice. ;)
I'm really excited to see this, and the fact that its in a lounge where I can chill and have a couple drinks couldn't be more perfect.

I know making a request isn't going to have much influence, but the drive from Minnesota would be 100% worth it to see you guys play "Silent Tomorrow"

Keep in mind, our set is considerably shorter then the one in Belgium. There, we played an hour, and here, we get 25 minutes at best.

We tossed the idea around of a new song, BUT, since we're playing a couple in the heavy set, we figured you guys would want to see some old material you haven't seen.

Will the heavy set be about 30 minutes as well?
Because an hour of NDOOM at a festival in which half of the time is acoustic sounds amazing. obviously the longer the better.

Oh geez!! Don't give yourself that much credit!! Although...how typical of you! :Smug:

We've talked about Suidakra for years!! Before you even started hanging out on our board!! After booking Paganfest, the timing for them seemed right.

Also, the credit for the acoustic idea should actually go to Will Bozarth...he appraoched me months ago about doing an acoustic set. Also, I don't even remember you saying anything last year about it...and not much other than bitching about how much our lineup sucked! And Turisas...what a stretch!

What may have been more appropriate and cooler for you to say maybe is something like great minds think alike...haha...but if you want to pat yourself on the back, go ahead! And sorry, I keep forgetting you invented the internet too!

Fucking cool announcement, now I really need to get up there!

I think we know the set we'll be playing, but go ahead, let us know what you want to hear in the acoustic set.

Rain please.

:)

I am really hoping for TWILIGHT INNOCENCE in the acoustic set.
In all honesty, I can't recall what your setlist was for the previous acoustic set.

I got my wish in 2007 with Silent Tomorrow. To see it acoustic would be brilliant.
Awaken would be killer too!

So how will it work? Let's say Saturday is a sell out crowd.
What if EVERYONE in attendance wants to see ND acoustic?
Does Capone's have enough space? Will it be first come first serve?

I will be planting my ass front and center for that right after Luna Mortis anyhow.
Just curious.

congratulations guys, on being able to realize your wish at a better place then you would have hoped for a couple of months ago :)
