Anyone use the Art MPA gold?
I hear that once you scrap the crappy stock tubes for sumint a bit decent such as..... Tung-sol, groove tubes or telephunkens you can get some great results and bang for ya buck.
£280ish with the tube change seems real good but would it be any good for hard arsed music....anyone?????
I used the MPA Gold (with Tung-Sols) and an SM-7b for the song I did with Mark and Marcus here and on the song I did on Behindert's thread here and lastly on Zakky's Rebel Yell thread here.

I really need to get some better preamps then what's on my profire 2626.
Did you change the tubes yourself?
I hear its well easy and everyone seems to go with the tung-sols which judging by your tracks really do the business
