Preferences on snare and kick triggers

I generally use roland triggers on the kick drum mainly to obtain my midi notes and seems to work fine, Ive used the D Drum ones in the past but seemed to have less control over them, maybe because my triggering brain is a Roland TD-8. Anyone tried the roland snare triggers? And if so how do they work against the D Drum ones. I found on the D Drum ones if the XLR jack is even a tad loose due to the rivets they tend to misfire alot rendering them useless is this incorrect????? Hmmmmmm, I need to sample alot more and really need a flexible well working set up.

I bought a few Roland tom triggers and use one on the snare (I don't need the rim shot for the snare trigger so the mono was fine) and although I was quite worried about the fact that nothing touches the skin of the tom or snare (the trigger is mounted on the metal part of the tom), they work perfectly. Plus they are much more solid than the DDrum ones, nothing touches the skin (this can be an advantage... or not if you like the fact that the DDrum dampens the skin) and they look cool. Only drawback, the "click" sound they give sounds a bit like a ping-pong ball, not as usable as the DDrum one if you want to use it directly.
