preproduction on my band's new album.

I think its pretty good for the most part but, i was just listening to music on my laptop with my roommates bose headphones and the snare almost hurts my ears when listening. I'm not sure how it sounds on other headphones. maybe turn the snare down or try a different one? other than that sounds good to me

yeah. it's just the volume/velocity of the snare. my drummer is a HARD hitter. and that's his snare tone. haha. so I have to cut it back some. I tend to have the snare higher in the mix before I put in the vocals to take up some of the space down the middle.

oh ok I see. I actually re listened with a different pair of quality headphones and it doesn't sounds as harsh. Bose seems to boost a lot of frequencies in their headphones lol

i would suggest that you should try keeping the breakdowns in both sides at all times. it just helps it keep its fullness. i would love to mess around with a mix of this. would you mind sending out drys? just think it would be funn to mess with something new

yeah. for the purposes of prepro we didn't record some guitar parts twice. so we do intend to that.
but once again, these aren't the tracks being used.

perhaps I can make some stems for everyone's mixing practice. at some point.
I have 10 songs worth of material.
