Favela of My Dismay
I do believe "press photos" is the proper term.

I've been running through enough bands in the past month that my eyes have begun to sympathize with the chafe in between Tila's salivary safe. Black Metal receives a lot of slack for their over the top band photography which involves woods, axes, and mutilated squirrels impaled on kabobs, but I'll be damned if stoner and sludge don't fall under the same "been there done that" hot tubbin tactics implemented by Darken himself. Every god damn sludge band has a photograph like the following...

Look at us, we're playing music so grimey that the photographer's lens became dirty. Tunes that are so dense that the building is trembling like a Great White concert. I feel trampled by such unoriginality. :erk:

Then you have the average stoner band... O.K I get it, it's about not taking yourself seriously and having a good time. But do you really have to make yourself look like a God damn complete idiot? If you take these photographs seriously, it's usually a tell tale sign that you actually give a lick about the music you're trying to sell to the public.

i reall like that chick's band pics ... what's her name? Maren's friend ... she's good!

At first it was a joke, then I figured fuck it, maybe I'll make some AIM friends.

I corresponded with one broad for several days, but grew bored faster than a metalhead at a Sleepytime Gorilla Museum show. Frankly, I could care less about her day as a teacher's aide for the mentally disabled. I'm not Candy Andy or any of his associates who spit I.P game across the globe in hopes that they can get their dial-up dick wet by exchanging lewd photographs in scenic wood filled settings via gmail.
