Pretty damn unscientific... but ... JCM900/DSL100/SigX

I wanted to do a sort of comparison between these amps. I'm pretty sure I prefer both the Marshalls for clean tones. But wanted to hear how the high-gain rhythm and lead recorded.

I tweaked them to sound good in the room.

JCM900
DSL100
Fryette Sig X

Into.... ENGL Vertical 2x12 w/V30's

Recorded using: Sennheiser 421 Shure SM57... M-Audio Profire 2626.

I'm sure these amps can probably sound better, but hey.. it was a quick thing. Might be interesting to someone!

Can't believe I'm saying this, but from these clips I have to say DSL100 > SigX > JCM900; SigX is too muffled for me (though I have to assume it could have more cut dialed in), and the 900 too loose/woofy and undergained

I liked the DSL on rhythm best, but the SigX on the lead. I'm sure the SigX could be EQ'd better for the rhythm though. Was the Deep switch on on the DSL?
