Pretty Impressed with the Peavey ReValver..

Was fooling around with the Peavey ReValver Plug-in today and made this small snippet of 1 riff w/drums NO Bass. Not the most intellegent of riffs but hey I'm a drummer

imho revalver is quite outdated in comparison to the poulin and onquel freebies. the impulses provided are not state of the art either. with that in mind the guitar tone is not too bad. it's a tad to dry for my taste

Yes I agree the preloaded impulses are unusable, I did use one of my own impulses however. Haven't been a fan of the simulated guitar tone until trying this out, I wouldn't ever use this in an album mix, but for demoing ideas or scratch tracks this is a cool option I think.

Revalver is also still my fave 5150 sim. Feels/ sounds most real to me, but I still use leCab and my own IR's. The revolver ones blow!

Yes, but you can still disable the cab simulation and use a third party impulse loader, right?

I like the 5150 and the 3120 sims most, and the fact that you can basically create an amp of your own is neat. Wasn't a fan of the od they have, and didn't care much for the impulses either. The 3120 really sounds good with BTE TSS in front and Greg's ASEM as a cab impulse. Still, you can do just as well with any of the free preamps out there.

Yeah Revalver is pretty much shit with the stock impulses. I thought it was pretty good when used with something else.
