Message for August 2007 – THE SIXTH CRUSADE IS NEAR.

So the battle is half over….the album remains only to have the lions share of vocals done and then mixed and mastered. The projected release date is in November on Metal Blade….I still haven’t been hit with an album title yet though, everything I think of is either too blunt or too damn angry right now. In true Primordial fashion it has to be something open to interpretation. It will come.

The album sounds massive so far, Chris at Foel Studios has done a sterling job so far. Being able to all jam together, do as much live as possible and use loads of old analog gear has made a massive difference. Being removed from the madness of a big city for the first time has also been a great help, no distractions. You have nothing else to do but focus on the music.

I did however curse the Gods by saying in the last message how much I was looking forward to stepping out into the sunshine after a take. By the end of the week I even had a damn cold the weather was so bad. It has rained apparently at least part of everyday now for nearly 60 days…It rained and it rained and fucking rained and I think if we had booked the studio even one week later we might not have been able to get to the studio from Liverpool with the flooding that has been ravaging the Uk for the last few weeks. By the grace of the Gods themselves.

Actually that's not entirely true, I downloaded I think three of their albums about 3 or 4 years ago, but I wasn't ready to appreciate them at the time. I'm sure I would love them now, it's just a matter of buying their material when money is limited.
