My dream would be for them to do another history tour after the release of a corresponding DVD set (after the FF era wraps up obviously), and have Blaze open for them on tour, then get him on stage in the middle of the set for a couple of songs. That would be just too fucking awesome.
So I am just listening to Virtual XI instead...some really killer tracks on here. I know The Clansman is a great song, but I kinda forget how great. I also love Lightning Strikes Twice and Como Estais Amigos. Fuck yeah Blaze.
I've been listening to a fair bit of Maiden yesterday. I used to love The X Factor but I can't get into it these days - I can listen to four or five songs but have to skip the rest (those between Man on the Edge and Edge of Darkness) while I like Virtual XI a hell of a lot more than I used to.
I seemed to enjoy it a lot more last night too. Blaze sounded much better than I remembered on some tracks.
The X Factor has always been a bit of a task to listen to but I have always loved it. The Edge Of Darkness and 2am...amazing!
After reading this thread I found myself in the shower this morning suddenly imagining what Blaze would sound like singing Ghost of the Navigator. For the Blaze fans, what reunion era material would you be most interested in hearing him sing?
Mine would be the aforementioned Ghost of the Navigator, and maybe Face in the Sand.
Hah that is an interesting question. Face in the Sand is a good one. Something darker from AMOLAD would be interesting, such as Brighter That a Thousand Suns. Maybe Dream of Mirrors since it is said to be a leftover from the VXI sessions.
Now that I think about it, if you edited the shit out of The Angel And The Gambler and Don't Look To The Eyes Of A Stranger, then added Dream Of Mirrors, VXI would be a pretty killer album.
Yup. The Angel and the Gambler radio edit is probably in my top 20 Maiden songs. Don't Look to the Eyes of a Stranger could be the same length, just needs a little bit of variety in the lyrics, or just have a long slow instrumental bit towards the fast stuff.
Just wached some of the vids, good stuff. Would have been awesome with better sound, but still enjoyable. Although I avoided most of the 'classics', Blaze sounds great on some of the older stuff. 2 Minutes To Midnight is rockin!
