Pro Tools 9

Ok, I'm jinxing the whole thing by starting a thread before PT9's supposed unveiling. You can blame me if all Avid comes out with is Pro Tools Kindergarten Edition or something.

Disregard the risk of getting disappointed, I'm pretty much counting minutes to the Avid live AES feed (http://community.avid.com/blogs/buz...treaming-twitter-contest-speaker-line-up.aspx). As a matter of fact, I even got some snacks for the occasion. That's a bit sad, right?

When (if :P) it's public and official, I'll update all the facts to this post.

EDIT: All right, I didn't jinx it. Yay! Here are the facts: http://www.airusersblog.com/home-page/2010/11/4/avid-pro-tools-9-the-facts-and-features.html

EDIT2: And the official Avid page: http://www.avid.com/US/products/Pro-Tools-Software?intcmp=AV-HP-S2

EDIT3: Since there are lots and lots and lots of identical questions repeated in this thread, I thought I'd add the official Avid PT9 FAQ here:
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - PLEASE READ THROUGH BEFORE ASKING

Im counting down the minutes to watch the thing and I dont even use Protools. Im really curious to see what they deliver to their users!! The MAIN reason ive stayed away from anything PT is the lack of ADC in the cheaper version. Who knows, if they add that, maybe id be into trying out PT.

EDIT: btw, he's a link right to the feed and chatbox.

tool-kits.... bah. a video tool-kit makes sense, because tons of users do not want/need the video functionality. but including single track beat-detective and charging $395 just for the ability to use multi-track BD, however, just seems cruel. i realize that includes a buncha plugins and the extended track count too, but BD is such integral functionality for so many people o_o it's like the difference between cubaseLE and the real thing

I hope you fuckers get what you want so you can shut up about it already

No, but in all seriousness, even if it does happen the rest of the world is never going to hear the end of it anyway... :yell:
