Ok so maybe i'm a little behind in times but my girlfriend just got me an MP3 player for my birthday that holds like 1000 songs. Some music I downloaded transfered quite easily on there but some of it won't transfer at all.
ALSO, something that should be fucking simple like taking my cd's and transfering them to the MP3 is a hard task I cannot figure out. When I insert one of my cd's into my drive and copy it to Windows Media Player etc, how then do I transfer that album over to my MP3 player? :yell:FUCK!!

Maybe I'm a retard but who can help me out here?

If some of your songs won't transfer, it might be because they're an incompatible format, like WMA or something. That's my only guess based on what you've said so far.

If you have Itunes, you can change songs to mp3 format easily. I'm not sure how to do it in the Windows Media Player.

By the way, Ozzman: I love that Tom Waits is listed smack dab in the middle of six metal bands, :headbang:

I have songs on my desktop that are MP3 format and all i'm trying to do is drag the motherfuckers over to my MP3 player folder.

It keeps on saying: "Cannot copy Dark Tranquillity - Lost To Apathy The directory or file cannot be created"

Belligerent:

RIP your cds using WMP (though I much prefer Jet Audio) to a location on your computer (maybe the obnoxiously convenient My Documents/ My Music location), then click and drag tracks from that window to your (I'm guessing) E:/ My Mp3player window.

If it's a cheapie, you may only be able to play songs in an .mp3 player format. Check what format you are ripping to (if using WMP you may be ripping to .wma by default, depending on version).

If it's a cheapie, it came with translated from the original chinese to english via babelfish manual.

I brought my brother a 1gb chinese mp3 player, and the manual read like some fucking treatise on existential zen. It was a work of poetic art, though utterly fucking useless for operating the device.

Try taking something off and then uploading one of the albums that won't work. If it still doesn't work, something's wrong with the file format.

Erk, Don't tell me I filled this thing up already. I have a total of 7 albums on it. Can a 2GB fill up this fast?
Cheapass girlfriend...

EDIT: this is the exact one she bought me:http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4645481

Check what bit-rate you ripped your songs on.

Change it to 160 kps - on a crappy mp3 player this is the lowest bitrate you can change to without it sounding like you are listening to it from a room next door.

This. Re-rip your albums at a lower bitrate, if need be. Lowest I'll go for ripped albums is 192 kbps, but you should go down to 160 if you're that strapped for space.

You can't just drag 'n' drop songs in WMA format, at least I haven't been able to with any of the players I've used. Once you've copied your CD to WMP, you then use "copy to device" or "synchronization" depending on what version WMP you have, & it copies the music onto the player via WMP.

If this was any other type of player, I would just say check for a firmware update - alas, I've never heard of this brand.. damned chinese bulsch.
