Prog metal with a bit of gothic - Mix too compressed?

Hi there,

Here is the tune I've been working on.

Doesn't it sound too compressed? Also, I was trying to bring some sparkle to the highs but it sounds a bit harsh to my ears..

Any advice would be much appreciated.
