Prog rock inspired track - mix attempt 1

Hi guys,

I've been mainly trying to practice my mixing skills for this excerpt, inspired by bands like Porcupine Tree/Blackfield/Anathema. The guitar playing isn't very good and the drums are just a boring beat looped, so ignore those imperfections . I'm mainly looking for some mix criticism.

I'm wondering what others think of the mix. The guitars sound a little bit muddy to me.

The hissing is there because I'm using a trial version of a keyboard VST.

I think that bass should be big and dirty
cleans sound nice , not that bad really. I can't really hear any faults

That's an interesting idea. I might try to give the bass a bit of dirt.

I agree... bass should be a bigger part of that mix... and maybe some slight parallel comp on the drums...
