Prog rock

wtf it is not a recommendation thread or smth, people you will put whatever the fuck they like in their lists...

I'm not even sure what this thread is. Are we supposed to comment on this list of prog bands? are they ones he likes? what's the point? I guess most people think the point is to list more bands, ones i presume are their favorites. Anyway, shit thread.

I like the traditional prog bands a lot, not too much into obscure/extremely experimental prog stuff...

thats exactly what im not a fan of. Just ends up sounding boring as hell after you hear about 10 bands.

So basiclly i can only really get into the 'mainstream' bands that were listed at the top, but from the tons of others i downloaded im not really a fan to be honest. I like something a little bit gentle.

1. Dancer - Tales Of The Riverbank
2. Egg - Self Titled
3. Renaissance - Scheherezade
4. Celeste - Self Titled
5. Bo Hansson - Attic Thoughts
6. Wigwam - Fairyport
7. Landberk - Indian Summer
8. Ragnarok - Same
9. Gracious - This is gracious
10. Extradition - Hush

of course they will. and i will break my monitor in a scissor kick attempt to take them out. i'm hoping people would try to go out of their way to post something different for once instead of posting just another list full of Rush, Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, and Pink Floyd. for everyone's interest and entertainment, but especially for my sanity :saint:

not to mention that there actually exist dumbfucks who would list Opeth, Tool, and Porcupine Tree as the epitomy of prog rock, when only the last is remotely related to the genre. What you said NEEDED to be said because people are conditioned to reply with the same old shit.

All three of those bands have plenty to do with prog.

yea - as much as seeing Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon listed over and over in this thread would've made me cry, seeing Tool - Aenima or some Pain of Salvation album listed alongside it probably would've made me jump into the Mississippi in an attempt to brutally claim my life

You can jump in any river you want because Pain of Salvation's disc The Perfect Element is better then Dark Side or any other Pink Floyd...

There’s too many prog albums that I love but here are some

2. Frank Zappa - Uncle Meat
3. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats
4. Frank Zappa - We're Only In It For The Money
5. King Crimson - Thrak
6. Pink Floyd - Animals
7. Pink Floyd – A Saucerful of Secrets
8. The Soft Machine - Bundles
9. Camel - The Snow Goose
10. Gentle Giant - Octopus
