There's some great artists on there. I can't wait to hear it. I was supposed to get a few copys of it, but they have not arrived yet. I am glad to be included with such great talent. (I only wish I had been able to send a better recorded version of my tune in time) But I'm just happy to be there!!

So far my favorite track is the one by Theocracy...theirs was my favorite on last year's sampler too. I really wish that album was available at the show... I also liked the Dead Soul Tribe song, though it reminded me a little too much of Tool (I like Tool, but it just sounds a bit too derivative).

Thanks for the Theocracy mention! The album will be arriving Wednesday and I will start shipping out this week and most vendors should start having it available as well this week/early next.

Outworld WAS disbanded but now looks like it could be a real deal again, and I agree, killer tune.

Lots of cool new bands on the sampler this year, looking forward to see how this thread progresses.

My stand-outs after only one listen are Theocracy and Thangelic! Of course I did enjoy the Labyrinth, Nightwish, Balance of Power, Reading Zero, and Mercenary.

I'm a sucker for Fozzy but I don't think it's one of the best tracks on the sampler.

It would be really cool if some of you who got the Sampler CD would post your comments/reviews of the songs/bands on it? Kind of like how everyone is giving their reviews of the show...

Oh that's a good idea! I'll have to give this some time though as I would want to listen to each track a lot closer than I have been.

Forgot to mention last time: ION VEIN! :kickass:

This is an excellent suggestion. I know I am very interested to hear what everyone has to say about the new Balance of Power, as well as the other tracks on the sampler.

How about the less established/unsigned bands on there...the one's most of us haven't heard of? Bands like Nightwish and Mercenary are a given to most (like you had said, "of course"), since they are good enough to appear at the show, but are there any bands on the cd that you guys could see playing at a future ProgPower show?

Aside of course from my own bands on there, I thought the Hemisphere and Shock Opera track were very cool. I'm in love with the Outworld stuff as well, now just waiting for a full album from them dudes :)

Top picks for me were:

Ion Vein - Faith and Majesty
Shock Opera - The Killing Hand
Theocracy - Mountain
Undershadow - The Dream that Never Was
Dimension X - Corporate Ladder
Sun Caged - Hollow
Division - New Elite
Labyrinth - The Prophet

And my "WOW!!!!!!!!!" goes to:

Balance of Power - Chemical Imbalance
