ProgPower USA IX picture thread

It's a ma'am. My name is Heather :)

And I'll be seeing Gamma Ray & Helloween in a couple days. I intend to take pictures but I sincerely doubt they'll look anywhere as cool as yours

The same Heather from the Ayreon Yahoo d-group? I figure there aren't *too* many "Heathers" from Seattle who like Gamma Ray. :) I've been mostly lurking on the Ayreon group lately.

Nice photos, all!!

Yep, that's me. I'm also the same Heather on the Ayreon forum, the Edguy forum, the Helloween forum, the Kings Club (Helloween fanclub) forum, the Threshold forum, the Damian Wilson forum, the Blind Guardian forum, the Michael Kiske fanclub forum, the Avantasia fanclub forum, the Rhapsody forum, the Revolution Renaissance forum, and the Andre Matos forum.

It's wonder I have any time to do anything else

Here are a couple more...

Matt Barlow. Yes, I was all up in that.

And my all-time favorite ProgPower USA performance - Riverside!!!!!

Crotch shot. Pervert!

Great Riverside picture.

The Andromeda bassist cracked me up. Everytime Esa pointed his camera at him he posed and smiled.

Thanks Esa. That Amorphis picture is now on my background.

I'm surprised Empress hasn't posted yet.

She had a long drive back to Miami, and it takes a while to sort and filter and process a huge batch of raw images. She's also one of those (like Christina) who spend time producing awesome-looking embedded frames and logos.

HEATHER!!! I know you from some journal. That is Live. ;)

esa: Your pics rock. Hell, everyone who has posted pics so far, has awesome pics. I think I remember getting out of Minerva's way a couple times so she could take photos. :)

This thread is amazing! Esa you know I always love your pics - but those Amorphis shots are some of my favorites! Great subject matter too ;)

Christina, yours are amazing too! I really love the Rob Rock one! ... and that is one of the best crotch shots ever taken. Props. :Smokedev:

For Jenn:

This is just the first one I've done of Pathosray. I will probably be able to finish up Elvenking this weekend and move on to them.

Edit: Ah what the heck, one more for tonight. :)
It turns out a LOT of my Pathosray pictures are going to take some time to get right because I had no real idea of how I wanted my settings as this was my first Concert Shoot, and having only 2 songs to tweak everything..... I DID get some good shots though, so don't worry.

Question for the photographers:

K i'm being dead serious --I work in a camera store and basically I get to play around with cameras non stop for like 25 hours a week... and we got the new Canon 50d in and I couldn't put the damn thing down. It's like love at first sight... (I had a customer basically pry it from my hands) and well... should I make the switch from the Nikon d300 over to Canon? It's been eating away at my soul for like 2 months already >_< I love the 51-point focus but the focus speed compared to the Canon is unbelievably slow, it makes me feel handicapped and I miss SO MANY amazing shots from it! Grr >_< I need good opinions and insight from concert photographers in particular.

Halp meee!!

I used the XTi for all my pictures and the "el-cheapo" 50mm 1.8/f lens. I mean, if I can get this quality out of that camera, I can't even imagine what someone who's a pro could do with something better.

I'm such a freakin' gearhead lol. Musicians are bad with their instruments and i'm crazy with my camera stuff. I've been through 3 SLRS in the past 2 years! And I just want a line to stick with for a long time, like the 50d line. I was with the d80 line to the d90, and I now have the d300, and now i'm contemplating the d50. I was really really interested in the 5d mark ii coming out BUT I honestly don't need 21 MP nor do I need the video capability... I don't think $1000 is bucks is worth the full frame sensor. Sure it'll be good for high ISO but jee, i'm not going to spend $1000 to bump my iso up another couple notches lol.

Okay i need to find a camera gear thread somewhere on the interwebs to chat up a storm. I must be driving everyone crazy!! :(

I'm such a freakin' gearhead lol.

Hehe, i know that feeling.

I'm packing my stuff for PP Europe starting tonight with my new 50mm 1.4 and a new memorycard, this one holds at least 900 pics (RAW) so no need to change it during a set.

Very satisfied with my D300, but knowing the D700 is out now...it's very tempting :heh:. The noise level at 2500 iso and above is so damn low.
