ProgPower USA IX picture thread

It's called "continuous shooting mode". 3 or 6 frames per second on the 40D (I use 3 majority of the time.)

OK but how do you get the same picture from opposite sides
Two of those shots of Rob Rock look identical except for the perspective.

YOU'RE MAGIC!!

great pictures dude...

Here are my shots.. I figure you guys don't mind a bunch, right? :heh:

Great pictures everyone! Definitely have some good photographers on this forum.

There is one thing this thread is seriously lacking, and that is pictures of the attendees having fun! I'll get it started :)

Thanks dude! Agreed, not enough pics of the attendees partying out all weekend MORE PLEASE!

I know yip's still working on getting ours up - we only have about 40 couple this year.

I've got all mine finally put on the computer. Now I just need to make a photobucket. I'll get working on that. Have a lot of attendees (a funny one of you and yip) and some good and not so good band pics... the lighting was really weird/dark blue on a lot of them. Ah, well.... Some years they turn out great and others not so great depending upon the lighting, usually...

I think it was because this year they didn't do the video for all of the bands. Every time they do video the lighting is amazing :notworthy so I always hope the bands agree do to the pp video, but this year only a couple of them did it  so the lighting was very moody. The real challenge is to work around it!

and nails, seriously, I wish my first concert pics were as good as those. Seriously if you saw my stuff you'd laugh. lol. You used the xti with the 50mm f1.8?? Was it all manual focus? If it was DOUBLE KUDOS seriously seriously seriously :notworthy:notworthy:notworthy:kickass:

Yeah, I'd like to echo this sentiment: amazing debut. :kickass:

Excellent shots -- and these were taken with a slow-focusing low-ISO antique digicam. Very impressive. When you show up with a DSLR, the rest of us will have to find another line of work.

another line of work, eh? psssh.. like there's any money in concert photography anyway!

Thanks Esa and Vanessa for your kind words. My antique digicam and I appreciate it.

I love that function too. Unfortunately, I get a little carried away at times and end up with more photos then necessary. Hard to choose which is the best, which is why I haven't posted any yet. Still sorting and processing the plethora!

Really enjoy seeing everyone else's. Great job by all! It's keeping me motivated. Now I'll get back to work but leave you with a few fan shots.

Aww... Thank you guys so much. Seeing your photo's and knowing you thought mine were that impressive for a concert noob is very inspiring. :) It means a lot.

Yes, Min, I was using the xti 50mm f1.8, shooting mostly tv 1/125 all night. I can't take credit for either using Manual Focus or using any kind of Focus Point though. There was no way I could've done MF quick enough, and I didn't realise how amazing the Focus Points were, or how shallow a DoF 1.8/f gave me, or I would've stepped it up to 2.8. A lot of my pics that you DONT see focused on the wrong damned thing and made the musicians blurry!
