ProgPower USA VIII: First Band confirmed

Wow, awesome selection! I have and really like the first disc, and am looking forward to the new one. This should be a great set.

I do not even have the date of the festival confirmed or anything else for that matter.

Can it please be not the first two weekends of September? I'll be in Japan, and I'm sure everyone would be really sad if I missed the show.

*Watches as the UM servers melt down from a rash of posting begging for the festival to be held while Dave is away*

Never heard of them before, but I just got done listening to the full song that was posted. I like it:kickass:

Someone sign these guys already so that album can be released and I can buy it:headbang:

My description of the entire disc (not just the samples):

The Black Symphony meets Bodom with a pinch of Eldritch/Evergrey thrown in.

I definitely hear some Evergrey in the track on the audio section. That could probably come from the "A" tuning. Very good band.

Perhaps every year you should "discover" a new band?

:edit:

I also want to note how generally awesome it is of Glenn to do this for his festival. Prog Power is turning into a growing franchise around the world and with the USA installment getting more and more popular, Glenn could have easily booked a bunch of trendy bands for this year, but instead does the exact opposite and gives us this gem. I hate to kiss ass, but Glenn, if there's anyone in this country that deserves credit for ANYTHING, it's you. Bravo.

It Seems to me that Claus and Intromental have a neverending supply of awesome bands that have the effect of creating a "stir" no matter where they are from or where they play, i hope he keeps it up. I never tire of seeing the new bands he signs and then hoping they play ProgPower USA.
Way to go Claus on RainTime.

I have actually heard of this band before. I check out the Intromental bands/and audio pages on occasion. Intromental has a lot of excellent artists on board. People here will be familiar with a lot of them, but not all of them.

Check out this link if you haven't already done so.

http://www.intromental.com/management/index.html Click on Artists for a list of the bands and a small writeup of what to expect. Click on Sounds to hear some 2 minute clips of the bands.

It's a more progressive Mercenary, with really catchy hooks and shitloads of badd-assitude!

Glenn is outta control. Really, he is. This is more than just a hobby... more than just a side-gig... we'll see him at Betty Ford with mercury-filled needles in his arms! "More metal! I need.... more.... METAL!!! Gimme that cowbell it's made of METAL!!!!!! Nurse! I want this straight jacket replaced with something more METAL!!!!"

On behalf of RAINTIME and INTROMENTAL MANAGEMENT I'd like to thank Glenn for bringing the band over.

When I sent Glenn the new Raintime disc 2 weeks ago I kinda thought he would like it (duuh!), but wasn't sure exactly how much - well, since the day he got it he's been flooding my mailbox with emails daily stating hos much he loves it, hehe :)

ProgPower 2007 is gonna be the first trip for the Raintime band to USA, and I can guarentee you that they are just thrilled about it ... and so am I for getting another chance to come back and visit this great festival. We're all very much looking forward to the show !!!!

Claus

A bit of In Flames too. Very cool song and samples. Ordered their past CD. Definitely going to make it to the first band this year.
