programming snare: ghost note, stick rebounds?

So...Its been a long time (maybe like 8 years or so) i dont program a single drum track. I never had too much patience, and for demos I just sat at the drum and played it. I am getting into it again and I was questioning myself something: How about ghost notes, stick rebounds and all those little noises drummers do when playing - Is there any way to do those when programming? I KNOW how to do those on the drums, but I guess such details are not as simple as selecting a slower velocity or a different midi note. Anyone has experience with such a thing?

For ghosts I usually do a much lower velocity; in a full mix it sounds pretty good/convincing, especially if you have multi-samples. I find that adding in a slight hi-hat accent after the ghost tends to give it a slight more human feel.

Ruffs/drags are another story, I find that having a snare roll sample works best, rather than trying to program 2 really soft 64th notes or something along those lines.
