I still think this is the pinnacle of controller design:
Comfortable as fuck, no fuss, no batteries to worry about, works great.
I think it could be cool, but that it will work perfect I'm sceptic about. Just look at the delaytime between moving and the character moving on screen
I thought the "wii-mote" for ps3 looked kinda nice(even if it's not original). The response of the wiimote on wii has always been an issue to me but the one for ps3 looked really responsive and the update time was faster than any other motion controller I've seen.
they did use the project Natal in an onstage demo at the E3 conference.
While the idea isn't necessarily new, the extras they've done with it are pretty significant - voice, face, object recognition? 3D body mapping? I'd say it's a step above the Wii, and much more of a breakthrough than what some want to admit. Seems like the only people who downplay what it could mean to the gaming industry are the fervent anti-Microsoft people.
But, after playing the Wii, and seeing the crap Sony threw forth for their new motion control ideas, Microsoft's entry is already a winner, IMO.
despite where any of the tech comes from, it's mind boggling to think how we'll be interacting with video games in the future.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. I would have believed in it a lot of more if they used it live instead of showing a video.
