its seems like good mix between death, black and thrash metal. the thrash sounds inspired by testament Low era(i'd say) and the death sounds like Morbid Angel Domination era and theres bits of black, but nothing black i can really grasp

It sounds a bit GOTH( a bit of TYPE O NEGATIVE vox) and black(guitar) mixed so far.

I have to say that waiting for the song to download was painful, though quite worth the wait! I've listened to Sentinels at least 10xs already and it gets better with every listen! I cant quite define a style yet, Black, Doom or something. My speakers suck on my Computer(Dell!)but under headphones it truly is Awesome. I definetly will be getting a copy! Has anyone heard the whole thing?

Wow. I'm kind of digging this whole thing!!! Thanks for all of the great comments! No negativity yet. I'm shocked!!! I guess Nevermore fans are pretty open- minded! They really can't be put into any one catagory either. Van and I listen to so many different styles of music that it's hard to say where our influences derive from. I own the first three, and the most recent, Testament albums but a few people hear a Testament vibe that I've never noticed. I'm flattered though because I think Eric Peterson is one of the greatest riff guitar players in metal!!! I'm not trying to sell anything here but I would love people to hear the other songs because they sound nothing like Sentinals!!! O.K. This is GREAT!!!!! I've been waiting for real internet bashing!!! True Light, This is the only track that has distorted bass! I would have liked the bass to be more distorted, which is the way my rig sounds live, but I can hear the bass clearly. The levels are fine! As for Van sounding like Pantera, I just don't hear it!!! We don't try to sound gothic! We write a riff which has a mood and we go with it. Be it goth, jazz, punk or metal! There are no blast-beats on our demo anywhere!!! Thanks for your comment! I liked it as much as any of the praise!!!!!
