This is the only track that has distorted bass! I would have liked the bass to be more distorted,

which is the way my rig sounds live, but I can hear the bass clearly.

I'm hearing alot of pantera in the first riff... With the bends, and semi false-harmonics here and there... The mix is terrible... shocking even... TL you see it too... But it's only a demo, so that's not really an issue...

The vox are VERY type-o when they first start... pretty decent... very 'gothic'... Nice control over the vocal styles... a little bit derivative of other singers at times tho. The vox at times remind me of that bit in Iced Earths "Violate", when he sings "Enter Now"... effects/layering gallore... I see what TL means with the pantera-style vox... the more hardcore style, not so much in his tone, but in the phrasing and where he puts screams and accents..

Guitarwork is a mix between FBD era Pantera, and Demonic era Testament...

Really not my style at all... but it's not bad. I am wondering if this was a band of someone that WASN'T in nevermore, like an anonymous poster on this board, wether you would all like it so much... Chuck on some Pantera, then some newer Dimmu, and a bit of testament... and you get the same effect.

I'd respond but I have no idea what you're talking about!!!
I will make two points though. 1) Fast double bass is not a blast beat! What you're hearing is double bass with the snare hits very far apart and fast picking on the guitar. 2) When Van and I write music we don't try to make it sound like any band. The comparisons are in the ear of the beholder.

He knows that Lemmy plays with a distorted sound. O.K. He doesn't like the sound of the bass on the disc. Not everyone will. I was defending the levels. I hear the bass throughout the entire song. Having played the guitar and bass on the song I wouldn't want one to drown out the other! I said that I play with a distorted sound so that tends to blend more with the sound of the guitar. It doesn't get the separation that a clean, low sound would get. He very clearly said " vox too Pantera". Why would he deny that? He may have thought "the vox go from aggressive to gothic" but he didn't say that in his first post. He said that I don't hear my own band because I'm off on my rig. Someone please explain this to me!!! I must be a RETARD!!!!! I hope that you understand what a blast beat is because that is one of the points that you both missed. Sorry to write so long folks! He asked me to!!! I hope the site is up soon so you can here some other things from the disc! They're very different from Sentinals!
