He didn't shoot it.... ok. here's the story:
The crow wasn't a "pet", but it lingered around the yard for a long time so they'd feed it and such. My grandfather used to work on cars, and when he'd do this, he'd take his rings and watches off... they'd start disappearing randomly, along with the nuts and bolts from the car. A while later, my grandfather knocked down a rusted pole int he backyard and all of the missing things spilled out. My grandfather had enough and grabbed the crow, drove a while away with it, and left it. He got back, and it was sitting on the gate to the yard. He grabbed 2 things:
1. Bird
2. Hatchet

I saw him slaughter a turtle for snapper soup.
