I heard about this. Very interesting. I thought the guy from Solitude Aeturnus/Candlemass (I know his last name is Lowe) was going to sing for Pyramaze. Oh well. I guess we'll see how this turns out. Personally, I would like Barlow to return to Iced Earth as I haven't like the past few Iced Earth releases without Barlow.
I am looking forward to this.
Their last album, "The Legend of Bone Carver" was stellar. Lance King is a good guy and will be tough to follow, though I am sure Barlow will do a fine job.
I never heard anything about Robert Lowe fronting Pyramaze. That would not seem like a good fit at all. I like Lowe right where he is, in fronting Candlemass. The King of the Grey Islands will be in my top 5 for 2007 with ease!
We talked about this when Barlow became the vocalist, and I think the consensus was that Pyramaze are good when one considers their specific genre, but not at all epic when considered in the scope of musical endeavour.
I'm still pretty much towing that line. The only reason I'd buy any material would be because of Barlow, which speaks volumes about the band.
crystal clear production, keyboard player is metal warfare - legend of bone carver is what i heard , its happy metal ok ed...thats why you think its pissy!
yo heard this crap - queensryche - gonna get close to you (12_ version)
Honestly, I think any band would sound awesome with Matt's voice...still miss him in Iced Earth but Pyramaze is a really cool band, can't wait for the new album!
I'll probably buy it yeah, since everything Barlow touches is awesome, but I'd never heard of the actual band before I heard Matt was going to sing in it.
I had wondered why a thread regarding such a topic hasn't been made before. I possibly had a heart attack when I heard good ol' Barlow was gonna be singing metal again. After checking out Pyramaze's previous works, I'm really excited to see what they'll sound like with Barlow (though I'll still shed a tear of IE). I absolutely love Melancholy Beast, but have yet to fully get into the Bone Carver.
On their forum I had the chance to ask Barlow if he'd maybe sing a song at my wedding (whenever that happens)... he declined. So Warrel, the slots open if you'd care to grace us with your presence.
